About The Artist
Kell Martin grew up in the greater Sacramento Area under a big sky and surrounded by fields of grass. As a child, she was fascinated by every type of animal. That passion for nature followed her into adulthood and continues to influence her work. In high school, she was president of the theater club and loved writing short sketches for her friends to perform.
After cutting her teeth on foundation courses at Consumnes River Community College, she moved to San Francisco to pursue a degree at the Academy of Art University. Her passion for storytelling and background in theater helped inform her degree in visual storytelling. In 2012, she graduated with a BFA in Illustration.
In the years following, she’s made her home in the Bay Area, filling a variety of creative roles in graphic design, illustration, animation, creative/technical writing, brand building, and so much more. She has a philosophy of saying yes to unique projects, especially if she can learn a new skill while doing it.
